Movie Night

I thought it would be fun to treat the kids to a movie tonight. All of us. As a family. A real movie night where we actually go to the movies. Little did I know we might should take out a loan to do so. The tickets themselves were not too bad, $48 for the lot of us. It is a treat after all, not something we do too often. NumberFive is not yet two, and..well if you have ever tried to take a not-yet-two year old to the movies, lets just say. DONT..because after the candy is gone, that’s it. You might as well pack it up.
And you know that no movie experience is complete without popcorn and candy and bladder buster drink to wash it all down. So we hit the concession stand. Popcorn, candy and drinks all around. The only-one-kid people behind us were ever so patient as our children changed their mind 15 times before making that final important decision of what king sized pound of sugar they would be consuming. Now, if you have a large family, or have been unfortunate enough to be stuck behind a large family , say in line- at a fast food place, or anywhere a choice is required, you know what I am talkin’ ’bout. One will have their mind made up until another pipes up with some other more enticing confection and then they are convinced that is what they now must have. And it becomes cyclical. Its quite funny. Unless you are that parent. Our total you ask? $79. Oh yea, you got that right. We should have taken out a line of credit. Paid in installments..
Oh well, we had a great time together. NumberFive made it ALL the way through the movie. Barely. And even though OnlySon ate an entire jumbo size package of twizzlers, he did not throw up.
Next time, though, I will be smuggling in our goods…
